We live in a time that technology is powerful and the world can be cruel. Hackers can access your information, take over your card numbers, and even steal your identity. Bullying has reached an entire new level as well with all of the social media options available to hormonal teens and misguided adults looking for an outlet for deflection, to shame and ridicule others, spread hate, and even make outrageous threats.
But isn’t it nice to know that no one can steal your identity in Christ… and if you remember how He sees you and choose to let that define you, then they won’t be able to steal your joy either.
Romans 5:9-10
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
We are JUSTIFIED. We are RECONCILED. Hallelujah! And Praise Jesus! Thank You, Lord for this ultimate gift. For letting your Son save us from our sins with his blood. We are so unworthy of this grace, yet you still let your only Son save us. And now, through him, we are justified and reconciled. Thank You, thank You, thank You!!
Colossians 2:13 and 3:12
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
We are FORGIVEN, HOLY, BELOVED. All of those sins, those doubts, those fears, forget them, because we are HIS. We are alive in Christ. He forgives us, even when we can’t forgive ourselves. Not only does he forgive us, but He loves us and loves us dearly. And through his forgiveness, we are made holy. Isn’t this incredible, y’all?!
Revelation 17:14
They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen, and faithful followers.
Guys… One day this world will end, and everything is going to be just fine. You know how I know? Because my team wins!! I have the playbook in my hands, and what follows this life is going to be incredible. We are CHOSEN. We are set apart. We are winners.
And get this. These are only a few ways the Bible shows favor towards us. There are all kinds of adjectives and phrases and verses highlighting how special we are. Know that as a believer, you are justified, reconciled, forgiven, holy, beloved, faithful, and chosen. Let this define who you are, not the world.
Lord, thank you for knowing me completely, and still loving me despite my failures. Thank you for saving me, for seeing the goodness in me, and for loving me unconditionally. Help me to always see myself and others through your eyes. And thank you for all of your love letters; I’m so glad I’m on your team. Thank you, Father.
Disclaimer: I know this post is a little out of the norm for my blog. But it was inspired by today’s devotion and started weighing heavily on my heart, so I just had to share anyways. Hope y’all enjoyed!
